Pioneer Day!

As part of the 4th grade core curriculum they have been learning about the History of Utah.  Part of that history includes the pioneers settling our great state.  In celebration of our Pioneer Heritage the students and teachers dressed in pioneer attire for the day on Friday, November 22.  They participated in various pioneer activities throughout the day.  The culminating activity was singing and dancing  the “The Virginia Reel.”  Students performed the dance and then asked parents to join.  This has become a fun tradition at East Meadows.

Our very own principal Mr. Dwight Liddiard was selected to represent the State of Utah as the recipient of the 2013 National Distinguished Principal Award.  He was awarded this honor on October 25, 2013 in Washington D.C.  We feel honored to have him as our principal here at East Meadows Elementary.  We enjoy the leadership the he offers to both students and staff.  He has gone above and beyond to ensure that our school has the best technology and tools available to benefit our students.
