The hall and classrooms of the sixth-grade students at East Meadows Elementary looked like a museum on October 19, 2011.  The students displayed various projects they have been working on at home.  There were sphinxes, pyramids, sarcophagi, canopic jars and crooks and flails galore.  Many of these items were made from edible items such as marshmallows, caramels, rice krispies, sugar cubes and even cake and bread dough.  They molded clay and play dough.  They cut and colored and glued paper.  There were diagrams of the inside of a pyramid, reports on the Rosetta

It was a day filled with animals, pumpkins and fun for East Meadows second-grade students. On October 18, they visited the North County Equestrian Park and Harward Farms. Through various activities, students learned about the important role agriculture plays in their daily lives. They learned about good nutrition, proper hand washing, and other behaviors that can help prevent diseases. They made bread dough and living necklaces out of wheat seeds. They got to pick pumpkins, take them home and decorate them. These creative pumpkins are displayed at the school.

Today the Kindergarten students at East Meadows got to ride in a wagon pulled by a team of horses.  Clair and Brenda Christensen were kind enough to bring their horses, wagon and share their time with  us.  They rode around the neighborhood and enjoyed the fall weather.  As they began their journey they learned how to make a kissing sound to make the horses go.  Thank You Clair and Brenda Christensen for this fun experience!

Thank you to all members of the PTA at our wonderful school!  The children and school really does benefit by you becoming a member.  As a fun treat, we had a drawing from all current members of the PTA to give away two $15 gift cards to Texas Road House.  Congratulations to our winners Mindi Bills and Elizabeth Jones!  Don't forget that you can still sign up for PTA and help make a difference in the experiences of students at East Meadows Elementary School.   

Thank you everyone for participating in our GREEN Means GO Safely Week!  It was great!  By participating with your student/parent pledge and our activities of Walk to School Day, Safety is crazy fun - crazy sock day and our wear green day, you were entered into a drawing for a bike helmet for you or a member of your family.  Congratulations to our winners Ella, Jaxon, Naiya and James!  Students, teachers and parents, remember to always practice good health and safety and that GREEN Means GO Safely!

The 1st grade students at East Meadows Elementary have been learning about different Habitats. A habitat is defined as the natural home or environment of an animal, plant, or other organism. Students made dioramas at home and then brought them to school to display on Friday, October 7. Some examples of habitats the students brought were the forest, jungle, rainforest, desert, farms, safari, the Arctic and Antarctica, and the ocean. The students were very creative and it was fun to see their work.

Meet Kati Cropper. She is a new teacher this year at East Meadows Elementary. She teaches the fourth grade. Before she got married, her name was Kati Christmas. Mrs. Cropper earned her teaching degree at Utah Valley University. She loves working with kids and making a difference in their lives. She enjoys making learning interesting and fun for students. Her favorite thing about teaching is what she calls the “I get it” moment as students understand a concept. Mrs. Cropper hopes her students will feel successful as they go grow and learn throughout the year.

Congratulations to each of the following classes per grade level for thehighest number of parents and students who signed pledges and returned  them to your teachers. Way to go!  We hope you enjoy your treats!Don't forget safety and good health should be practiced daily.  Parents, students,teachers and staff, remember your pledge and commitment of health and safety toyour families, our neighborhoods and school.

The PTA wants to thank all who participated in our Walk to School Day.  Many parents were seen joining in. That is great! The children also enjoyed a nice greet and treat by some SFHS cheerleaders and football players.  Remember "GREEN Means GO Safely" as you continue to walk and bike in our neighborhoods and to/from school. 

Students at East Meadows put on their walking shoes and took part in national “walk to school day.” Principal Dwight Liddiard and students from Spanish Fork High School greeted the students with prizes as they arrived at the school. Everyone was encouraged to participate in healthy physical activities with family and friends, walk or ride their bikes to school often, practice safety rules, and enjoy the benefits of a healthier lifestyle that comes with that pledge.
