Kindergarten Registration is Moving to Summer

Kindergarten registration, traditionally held in March, will be moved to the summer and combined with grades 1st -12th. More detailed information regarding summer registration for K-6th will be sent out to you before the end of the school year.

Parents can prepare now for registering their kindergarten children by making sure they have a birth certificate and that their child is current on the following immunizations: DTap, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Polio, Varicella and MMR by the end of July.

We appreciate your help getting the word out. Please contact your school office if you have any questions. Thank you.

Celeste Gledhill – Supervisor of Elementary Schools
The Nebo School Board of Education appointed Celeste Gledhill as Supervisor of Elementary Schools for Nebo School District.

Celeste earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University and a master’s degree in Education Administration from Southern Utah University.

Ms. Gledhill has served as Principal at East Meadows Elementary for the past five years and as Principal of Mapleton Elementary for six years. She taught kindergarten through sixth grades at various schools for 13 years before becoming a principal.

A colleague said, “Celeste’s top strengths as an educational leader are being a calm and logical thinker even in times of crisis. She is a curriculum innovator and all aspects of her school benefit from this quality. Her leadership creates a positive learning environment and a strong sense of teamwork. Celeste is dependable and very professional and is a leader among her peers.”

Some of Ms. Gledhill’s mottos include: “One small positive thought in the morning will change your whole day.” And, “We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves stronger. It is the same amount of work.”
“It is exciting to watch the dedication of teachers and the light in the children’s eyes as learning takes place,” said Ms. Gledhill. “I have benefited from many influences of family, friends, coworkers, and church leaders that have made a difference in my life. I am grateful for all of the people I have been blessed to know throughout all areas of my life.”

Celeste enjoys reading, running, crafts and family activities.

Nebo District Chess Tournament 2019

Submitted by linda.beck on Mon, 02/11/2019 - 13:07

We had four of our students place at the Nebo District Chess Tournament over the weekend.

They took 3rd Place Elementary Team.

We had three sixth grade boys playing and two of them got 1st AND 2nd place.  They actually were tied in points so the computer picked the winner based on an algorithm of some sort.  Ryken got the benefit of the computer's choice this time.  Here are the results:

  • Ryken Brown got 1st place in the 6th grade
  • Michael Scott got 2nd place in the 6th grade
  • Hyatt Brown 6th place in the 1st grade
  • Dallin Manning got an outstanding trophy in 6th grade

Hopefully, these boys will do well at State next month!  Thanks for all your support!!

Congratulations  Way to go boys!!!!
