Blue Day
Holidays are significant days for Americans. They are days to set aside time for family, friends and traditions. On their own initiative, third graders at East Meadows Elementary set aside a day to celebrate holidays in general and called it “Blue Day.” Ashlyn Pulley described it this way: We celebrated Blue Day on March 28th, 2012, to show the world that we should show respect on certain days and holidays, and we should show that those days are important. Blue Day is just Blue Day, but some days and holidays are important and we will show our respect.

Living Planet Aquarium Field Trip
On Thursday, March 29, kindergarten children from East Meadows went to the Living Planet Aquarium. They learned about aquatic life as they viewed stingrays, sharks, penguins, sea horses and other curious sea creatures. Students touched stingrays and watched penguins play in the water. They especially enjoyed looking at the different kinds of sharks. This field trip is a favorite for kindergarten students. If you are interested, visitors can enjoy the exhibits at the Living Planet Aquarium in Sandy, Utah.
