East Meadows Counselor: Leslie Swenson

About Me: My name is Leslie Beck Swenson, and I'm from Spanish Fork. I graduated from Spanish Fork High School and went on to earn an Associate's Degree from Snow College, a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from BYU, and a Master's Degree in School Counseling from USU. I'm married to Landon Swenson, also from Spanish Fork, and we have three wonderful children: Chloe (6), Cy (4), and Wake (1). I've spent the past several years working as a counselor at Spanish Fork High School and am thrilled to now join the elementary world!

What I love most about working in schools is the relationships built with students and faculty. Supporting student growth, advocating for them, helping them problem-solve, and guiding them toward their goals is incredibly fulfilling. I'm excited to join the East Meadows Family and look forward to getting to know the students and families in this wonderful community!

Character Trait

My focus this year is on well-being and building character. I am doing my best to integrate that with what is already being taught in CKLA. My first lesson was an overview on Character Traits, and then throughout the year I will be focusing on specific character traits and trying to empower students to help them feel capable of being brave, kind, grateful, perseverant, etc.
