6th Grade Graduation
East Meadows students are putting their elementary years behind them and moving on to junior high. They have had a great year with Mr. Gull, Mrs. Tomadakis and Ms. Hammari. East Meadows wishes them the best.

Students have been celebrating another great year of school. They’ve done lots of activites—cookie day, crayon day, and cruise day are just some of the many events. On May 24, after the sixth-grade class went bowling, they had a water day. Students and teachers didn’t hesitate to get each other wet and have lots of fun doing it.
Family and friends have been filtering in and out of East Meadows Elementary this month to watch the year-end programs. Pre-school children left us with farewells of “Toodles Poodles,” “Take Care Brown Bear,” and “Till Then Penguin.” Kindergarten students sang songs about their “Journey through Kindergarten.” First graders focused on “Oceans of Fun.” Third-grade students shared their “Journey through Learning.” Visitors that came to the fourth-grade program will learn a lot about Utah through songs.
East Meadows students participated in the Spanish Fork Hershey Track Meet and performed well. For fifth grade, the boys’ relay team took first place. The team consisted of Connor Patey, Jaxon Barton, Ryker Barton, and Jarrod Ferreira. Connor Patey won the 800 Meter and the long jump. The girls’ relay team, consisting of, Shyanne Mills, Desiree Jamison, Taelyr Skollingsberg, and Alli Carter took third place. We are proud of all students that took part in the event.
Mckay Shaffer was the student spotlight in Mrs. Christensen's class this week. His mom brought a Shetland Pony, a goat and a duck for the class to see. They were able to pet and look at each animal. Thank You Mckay!
East Meadows students are encouraged to sign up for the Summer Reading Program at the Spanish Fork Library. Representatives from the library told the students in an assembly today that they can dream big if they read. Reading will also help them stay knowledgeable and be better prepared for the upcoming school year. The library will give their Traveling Trophy to the school that has the most students sign up for the reading program. East Meadows students—sign up on May 21 for the Summer Reading Program!
East Meadows 5th graders know their states. To show off their knowledge, they hosted a state fair on May 4. Family, friends and fellow classmates came to their classrooms to see their work. Students put together workbooks which included lots of interesting facts. They also created their own state ice cream, state t-shirt, and a 3D diorama. Each diorama posed a question and viewers had to discover the answer hidden in the display. Congratulations on their hard work.
Teachers and staff had a SUNsational time for teacher appreciation week! The PTA provided lots of food and support. To start off the week each staff member was given a bucket with some coupons and slips of paper for the students to write nice things about them, therefore filling the staff’s bucket with compliments. The teachers were treated to cake pops, a breakfast one morning, ice cream sundaes and a lunch. There was a display of jars that were filled many different items that the staff could guess how many in the jar and then win if their guess was the closest.
