PLC Summit in Phoenix

Last week our East Meadows Leadership Team had the awesome opportunity to attend the PLC Summit in Phoenix, Arizona.  The three day conference included sessions from some of the most influential educational leaders and researchers in the world.

We learned about elevating learning for both teachers and students.  Each day our team ended the day with a debriefing session where we discussed goals and plans for the future.  It was such a beneficial trip and we are excited to share what we learned with staff and parents!

It's the last push to finish our READING CHALLENGE to read 20 times during February and fill out your punch card.  We have daily dress up days planned as well as Books and Buddies and a Reading Marathon on Friday.

If your child would like to visit the East Meadows Ice Cream truck for a frozen treat, they will need their completed punch card to be turned in by Friday morning!

This month we will be celebrating LOVE TO READ MONTH at East Meadows.  Check out the weekly themes and be sure to check your email (and your child's backpack) for more information, details and the punch cards that will be coming home.

Students are challenged to read EVERY DAY and to use their punch card to track their daily reading.  Punch cards are due on February 28th and will be your child's ticket to our Reading Celebration to be held on Friday, March 1st!

Repertory Dance Theater Assembly

On Tuesday, January 16th we were delighted to have an assembly put on by the Repertory Dance Theater Company.  Students learned about the elements of dance and choreography as well as the importance of exercise and eating right to build strong, healthy bodies.  We appreciate the Beverly Taylor Sorenson Arts Initiative that brings these wonderful art-based learning experiences to our school.
