The 4th grade students at East Meadows once again started off the year making dinosaur dioramas.  This is part of their social studies unit.  They learn about different species of dinosaurs and their environments and diets.  They made the dioramas in shoe boxes.  Inside the box they created a scene that would depict what it looked like when dinosaurs roamed the earth. They used colored paper and play dough to make trees, mountains, water, and dinosaurs and anything else they could imagine to portray the scene.

On Thursday, August 18, East Meadows opened the doors to parents and students looking forward to the new school year. Students met their teachers, and got acquainted with their classrooms. Many faces were familiar and some were new. Dwight Liddiard, Principal, would like the students to have a sweet year. This year, teachers and staff will be watching for students that do something sweet and submit their names to the office where they will then get to pick a prize. East Meadows welcomes all students and staff to a great 2011-2012 school year.
