Irish Dance Assembly

The Shelley Irish School of Dance performed for the students of East Meadows Elementary in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day on Monday the 18th day of March, 2013.  Irish Dance originated in Ireland.  The dancers wore traditional Irish dresses and shoes.  They dance with their legs keeping their arms straight down their sides and little to no movement of the upper body.  They talked with the students about Ireland and St. Patrick’s Day.  

 

Mama's Wranglers Assembly

The student’s at East Meadows Elementary enjoyed a music filled assembly by “Mamas Wranglers.”  Formerly known as "The Kid Fiddler's." The Jackson Family Band is from Las Vegas, Nevada.  They have traveled all over the United States performing at various venues.

SFJH Band Visits 6th Grade

The Spanish Fork Jr. High School Band visited the sixth-graders East Meadows on March 12, 2012.  A representative from Summerhays Music explained all the different instruments to them.  Mr. Wendell, the Band teacher gave them a quick overview of the program.  The Jr. High students then played a piece they have been practicing. The Orchestra visited the week before.  It is time for the sixth-graders to decide whether they want to play in the Band or Orchestra next year.  

 

SPRING BOOK FAIR-"Story Laboratory"

Come visit the "Story Laboratory" Book Fair on Monday, March 11 through Wednesday, March 13, 2013.  Hours are on Monday and Tuesday from 8:00-3:30 and Wednesday 8:00-8:00.  Stop in before or after you visit your child's classroom on Wednesday afternoon.  The Book Fair will be closed on Thursday.  The Book Fair helps provide books for our classrooms and library.  Plus it is a great time to build your own libraries at home.   We hope to see you all there?

Dads and Donuts

Dads and Donuts has become a tradition at East Meadows Elementary.  On Tuesday, March 5, 2013 students and their dad’s, brothers, grandpa’s and even some mom’s filling in packed the hallways and classrooms at the school.  The PTA presented a new book to each student at the school that they brought with them to read or be read too by their dad.  It is always such a treat to see all those at the school reading and spending time with their children.  As the night ended they were treated to a fresh donut also provided by the PTA.  Thank you dads and all the many others that shared their valuabl

Dr. Suess Day Celebrated

Today the 1st graders at East Meadows celebrated Dr. Suess ‘ birthday. Joining many students across America the students participated in “Read Across America Day” by having a read-a-thon the last 45 minutes of school.  They wore pajamas to school and brought pillows, blankets and stuffed animals.  

 

Congratulations! District Science Fair Winners!

East Meadows Elementary is proud to announce  six winners at the Nebo District Science Fair that was held Tuesday the 26th of February, 2013. Congratulations to Bailee Bills, Ashley Norris, Josh Musick, Bryson Dafoe, Grace Fillmore and Kyra Feland.     Each of these individuals will advance to the Regional Competition held at BYU on March 19 &20. Good Luck to each of you!
