The NED SHOW is America’s Most Popular School Assembly. We encourage nearly two million kids a year in all 50 States, plus Canada, England and Australia. More than 17 million kids have experienced NED to date! We have also performed many times at the White House!

The NED SHOW is high energy and lots of fun for kids. More importantly it teaches students what it takes to be champions at school and in life! NED stands for:

Never Give Up    Encourage Others    Do Your Best®

The Buff Don’t Puff

Bob and Cindy Wakefield, Brigham Young University representatives, brought their “Buff Don’t Puff” program to East Meadows Elementary. They, along with student athletes, gave a presentation on the dangers of smoking. Students learned that for many serving time in the Utah State Prison their first mistake was choosing to smoke. Smoking can often lead to drinking, drinking leads to drugs, drugs lead to crime, and crime leads to prison. East Meadows wishes to thank the Wakefields for bringing this program to elementary schools.

Bread Donations

The East Meadows neighborhood was busy making bread last night. Students shared their bread with family, and members of the community. Many chose to bring their bread to school as a donation. The Provo Food and Care Coalition will receive more than 80 loaves of fresh homemade bread as a result of their efforts. That amount equates to more than 100 pounds of bread and is worth about $190! East Meadows thanks King Arthur Flour for donating the flour and teaching life skills to students.

First-grade students at East Meadows had some cultural fun with ballet and bowling. They attended the Cinderella ballet at Brigham Young University and really enjoyed it. After the ballet they had fun being active in the bowling alley. For many students, it was their first time attending a ballet or bowling.

King Arthur Flour, America’s oldest flour company, went on a mission yesterday to teach students at East Meadows how to bake fresh, nutritious bread from scratch as part of their Life Skills Bread Baking Program. The East Meadows National Honor Society hosted the assembly for 4th, 5th, and 6th-grade students. Students learned about whole grains and how to incorporate them into their diet. King Arthur Flour sent home enough ingredients with each student to make 2 loaves of bread—one to eat at home and one to donate to the Provo Food and Care Coalition or to other members of the community.

The 4th graders gathered together in the little theater for a presentation on Mountain Men. The students listened intently as Mrs. Mitchell shared information about the mountain man and Utah history.  Fourth Grade students have been learning about Utah History this year.  Mrs. Mitchell was all decked out in her mountain man attire.  She showed and talked about several items she has collected over the years. Thank you Mrs. Mitchell!
