The Kindergarten classes learned about different aspects of our community.  They heard from Officer Warner.  He talked to them about being safe on the streets this Halloween season.  The students promised to be safe and follow the rules Officer Warner talked to them about.  They went outside and were able to get inside the police car, watch the flashing lights and hear the siren.  The fire truck was going to come also but got called out.  To top off the day they learned how to make pizza from Two Jack's Pizza.

Ribbon Week-Life Beyond the Screen! (Orange Day)

Submitted by trisha.olsen on

This week is Ribbon Week here at East Meadows.  Each day the students will wear a disignated color for the theme of the day.  Today we celebrated and talked about "Life Beyond the Screen."  Each class had a chance to participate in a bounce house and field games.  We talked to them about finding activities they can do at home that isn't screen time.   Our hope is that parents and students will play or do things together today instead of coming home from school and watching T.V. or getting on varies media devices.

The fourth grade students enjoyed their annual field to Camp Floyd. The United States Army, Mormon Pioneers, Stagecoach Travelers, and the Pony Express met at Camp Floyd and the town of Fairfield. The Army arrived in 1858 and constructed Camp Floyd to suppress a supposed Mormon rebellion. The Army remained here for three years before being recalled for the Civil War. Today, Camp Floyd State Park features three structures and a cemetery.  The fouth grade students got to go back in time to the 1860's and experience what life was like back then.
