One of the favorite Holiday Traditions at East Meadows is the paper craft of stained glass.  Years ago Mrs. Laree Liddiard, a retired elementary school teacher, created these creations.  She created paper patterns of angels, stockings, wreaths, lanterns and other Christmas designs.  These patterns are traced and cut out by the teachers and parents.  The students then carefully add tissue paper to finish and the make the deisgn their own creation.  The decorations will be placed in the windows at the front of the school for all to enjoy.

As part of the 4th grade core curriculum they have been learning about the History of Utah.  Part of that history includes the pioneers settling our great state.  In celebration of our Pioneer Heritage the students and teachers dressed in pioneer attire for the day on Friday, November 22.  They participated in various pioneer activities throughout the day.  The culminating activity was singing and dancing  the “The Virginia Reel.”  Students performed the dance and then asked parents to join.  This has become a fun tradition at East Meadows.
