Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

Dr. Seuss was born one hundred and eleven years ago on March 2, 1904.  He is the beloved author of 46 children's books.  Dr. Seuss, whose real name was Theodor Seuss Geisel authored many favorite books such as: "The Cat in the Hat", "The Lorax", "How the Grinch Stole Christmas"' and "Green Eggs and Ham."  To celebrate here are some of Dr. Seuss' quotes:

Dads & Donuts-Come Join Us on Monday, March 2 from 6-7 p.m.- Dr. Suess' Birthday

Dads & Donuts will be held Monday, March 2, 2015 from 6-7 pm.  This is also Dr. Suess' birthday.  Bring a book and bring dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, mom or friend.  Most importantly come have fun reading with all of your friends at East Meadows Elementary!  We hope to see you all there!

Love Buck Carnival

The fifth grade students have been earning "Love Bucks" for the month of February.  They earn these by showing good behavior and working well in the classroom.  On Friday, February, 27 the teachers and many parents set up fun carnival in the gym for the students to spend their well earned "Love Bucks."  Good job students and thank you parents that volunteered your time and talents.  

President's Day Sale

The fourth-grade students held a President's Day Sale in their classrooms today, February 27, 2015.  They each were asked to clean out their toys cupboards and bring 10-15 items to sell at market.  They all have been earning president bucks by staying on task and for good behavior.  They all looked like they were having fun while learning about commerce.

Congratulations District Science Fair Winners!

The Nebo School District Science Fair was held Tuesday, February 24, 2015.  East Meadows students did really well. Congratulations to Alexis Gladding who walked away with a Grand Champion Project.  Zach Huish and Kaleb Feland won 1st place.  The following students were Top Ten Winners: Anna Colton, Kate Searcy, Hollister Hogle and Sam Jex. Other participants were: Quincy Judd, Haily Campbell, Lillian Woidka and Emma Jensen, Alivia Winkel, Reagan Knight and Sydnie Thompson.

3rd Grade Multiplication Ice Cream Reward Party

The third grade enjoyed a full ice cream bar today for their multiplication reward party.  They were able to choose how many toppings they got to put on their creation by passing off their multiplication facts.  They ended the day eating ice cream in their classrooms while watching a movie.  Thank you to the moms who came helped!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

The school was a buzz with activity today as students exchanged Valentines and parents and teachers provided parties in the classrooms.  Leading up to the holiday the Art classes have been making Valentine sacks to collect their prized Valentine's in and take them home.  Thank you Mrs. Hook!

Happy 100th Day of School!

Today, January 30, 2015, East Meadows is celebrated the 100th day of school.  Many classrooms were doing fun activities around the number 100.  The Kindergarten wore shirts to school with 100 things on them.  Who were those 100 year old Kindergarten teachers?  The first grade strung 100 Froot Loops on string making a necklace, they colored 100 shaped eye glasses, they drew a picture of themselves looking 100 years old, they did 100 exercises, and they took a die-cut 100 and made it into a picture.  Second grade had a pajama day to celebrate.  Each student broug
