Camile Biggs and Natalie Mecham were awarded a State Farm Good Neighbors for Good Schools Grant in the amount of $200. Students attended an assembly to see their teachers receive the award and enjoy a reader’s theater featuring the book, Wolf! Students were congratulated for their efforts in reading and encouraged to become good readers like the wolf. Mrs. Mecham explained that some time ago students had been given paper pizzas with no toppings; as they read, they got to add topping to their pizza. To celebrate the grant and to congratulate students for their reading, East Meadows third graders will enjoy a pizza party.
