Bob and Cindy Wakefield, Brigham Young University representatives, brought their “Buff Don’t Puff” program to East Meadows Elementary. They, along with student athletes, gave a presentation on the dangers of smoking. Students learned that for many serving time in the Utah State Prison their first mistake was choosing to smoke. Smoking can often lead to drinking, drinking leads to drugs, drugs lead to crime, and crime leads to prison. East Meadows wishes to thank the Wakefields for bringing this program to elementary schools. East Meadows also thanks Kyle Van Noy, Desiree Tran, and other athletes that serve as positive role models for their students.
