Sixth-grade students attended Brigham Young University’s Sports Hero Day, on January 22, 2015. There they met with BYU athlete’s and volunteers who serve as positive role models to children. They talked about reaching goals, heroism, sportsmanship, etc. Students not only watched demonstrations but actively participated in various sports along with students from other schools in the local area. They played football and volleyball with some of the college athletes. They played Sharks and Minnows with the Baseball and Softball Players.  The met some of the Cheerlearders and Cosmo. Chelsey, a student, said "she had a great time."  East Meadows wishes to thank BYU for providing this fun activity for our students.
