HOORAY! 4-H After School at East Meadows Elementary

Submitted by trisha.olsen on

The 2011 Fall 4-H afterschool program at East Meadows Elementary kicked off on September 6. The program is available to first through sixth grade students of the school. The primary goal of 4-H is to assist youth in developing life skills that help them live productive and satisfying lives.  4-H afterschool clubs allow students to explore many different talents and skills, emphasizing ”learning by doing.” Each week during this time students will learn and recite the 4-H pledge and motto, recite the Pledge of Allegiance, eat a healthy snack and attend a one hour club.  They will also participate in a service project. The fall clubs are: Flag Football, Jump Rope, Works of Art, Outdoor Games, Recharge, GPS, Paper Crafts, Crafts, Young Artists, Cloverbuds and Theatre. The fall clubs will run for ten weeks and will end on November 22.  This day will be the Parent Share Day where the students will get to show case what they have learned in their individual club.  This will be held right after school and we would like to invite and encourage parents and family members to come share this day with their child. Thank you Utah County 4-H and those who have donated to help with this program and also East Meadows Elementary.
