We honored and celebrated Veteran's Day with an assembly where we learned more about the brave sacrifice that men and women have taken all over to serve our country. The students of East Meadows showed a lot of respect by sitting quietly and listening to each of our veterans. At one point during the assembly a video was played where the sound wasn't working, students say silently and watched the video without making a sound. It was very cool to see the respect that these students showed. At the end of the assembly students sang God Bless America and it was amazing.
On Monday, November 14th through Thursday, November 17th we will be holding our annual Penny Wars for charity. Here's how it works:
4th grade has been learning all about circuits, insulators and conductors! These kids got created in finding ways to complete their circuits. #neboheros #handsonlearning #learningisfun
We had a blast last week celebrating Halloween here at East Meadows. We partied hard and have pictures to prove it! Check Facebook and Instagram for more pictures!
To the delight of students at East Meadows, winter weather has arrived! With the cooler temperatures, we wanted to remind parents to send their children dressed appropriately for the conditions each day. Attached you will find our cold and inclement weather policy.
Halloween fell on a Monday this year, but this didn't stop the students from getting in to the spirit of the season by showing off their costumes at recess. What a beautiful October day here at East Meadows!
Congratulations to Nicole Steiner, this year's Crystal Apple Award recipient! Mrs. Steiner was nominated and chosen by her peers as an exemplary teacher and staff member. She brings light, laughter and fun to everything she undertakes and it is an honor having her at East Meadows. We love you Mrs. Steiner!
