Ribbon Week at East Meadows

The week of October 14-21 was Ribbon Week at East Meadows.  To get in the spirit of each day the kids and faculty all wore the color of the day.  Each student was also given a bracelet for the color of the day.  Monday started off the week with "Turn off the TV and Talk Day."  The students wore yellow this day.  They were asked to turn off the TV and turn of your life!  They were encouraged to participate in a fun family activity instead of sitting in front of the TV.  Tuesday was Drug Free day.  The students were encouraged to wear red and they made posters in class pledging to be "Drug Free."  Wednesday we focused on standing up against bullying.  The color of the day was purple.  Some classes also made posters to pledge to be "Bully Free."  Thursday was our green safety day.  The students were greeted at the doors of the school by the Spanish Fork High School football team and cheerleaders.  They were all asked to walk or bike to school this day.  To finish off the week, the students wore white on Friday and were asked to discuss with their families Internet and media safety.  There is an Internet pledge that can be signed by both parents and students at: http://www.utahpta.org/internet-safety-powerpoint-presentation. Please take time to watch this and discuss the importance of safety on the Internet.  Altogether it was a great week.  Thank you to Mrs. Jenn Moxen, the faculty and the PTA for provided a fun and educational week!
