Hello East Meadows Parents,

I would like to take a minute and introduce myself.  My name is Mike Duncan and I will be the new principal at East Meadows beginning this summer.  I am incredibly excited for this opportunity to be a Mustang. I have heard SO MANY great things about our wonderful school!

I began my career fifteen years ago as a 4th grade teacher at Sage Creek Elementary in Springville.  This was a neat experience for me because I graduated from Springville High School in 1996.  Yes, I am a Red Devil!  I taught 4th and 5th grades for six years before I began my administrative endorsement at SUU.  At that same time, I was moved to Park Elementary in Spanish Fork to be the Title I Coordinator.  This was a new experience for me and I was able to learn so much about administration, as I worked under an exceptional principal that gave me many opportunities to learn and taught me the importance of relationships.

After two years at Park Elementary, I was appointed principal at Cherry Creek Elementary in Springville where I have spent the past seven years.  I have genuinely loved my time at Cherry Creek and have been fortunate enough to build lifelong friendships that I will cherish forever.  I look forward to doing the same thing at East Meadows with all of you!

My wife Kellie and I now live above The Oaks golf course.  We are Red Devils in Spanish Fork and we absolutely love it!  We are the proud parents of three amazing children; Allie, 16, attends Maple Mountain High School.  Avery, 13, attends Diamond Fork Jr. High School.  Maddux, 10, attends Spanish Oaks Elementary School.  We are also a host home for an adult with disabilities.  His name is Mel and he has been a part of our family for the past fifteen years.  Most of our evenings and weekends are spent watching our kids play sports and enjoying the outdoors. We are incredibly blessed and love the community that we live in.

I enjoy fly-fishing, hunting, golfing and being outdoors.  I love being with my family and look forward to each moment that I have to spend with them.  I am passionate about education and know how important of a role that the principal plays in a school.  I am committed to doing the very best job that I can do at East Meadows.  I look forward to meeting and getting to know every single one of you in the near future.  I love being with kids and am super excited to meet your children. I will work hard to do everything I can to assist in helping them achieve their potential.

Thank you for your warm welcome and continued support as we make this transition to new leadership in our school!  I am excited for the good times ahead!
