6th Grade Performs the Odyssey and Plays in the Greek Olympics

As part of the sixth-grade Greek unit they performed parts of the play "The Odyssey" by Homer.   The ancient greeks were great storytellers. The Greeks also loved heroes. One of their heroes was King Odysseus. A man by the name of Homer who lived at the end of Grecian Dark Ages collected the stories and with gods, and goddess', and many mythical creatures the stories of Odysseus have become known throughout the ages. The students made their own props and costumes.  They did a very fine job performing and learning at the same time.  Also later in the day they participated in the 6th grade Olympics in honor of the Olympics starting in Greece.
