2nd Grade Farm Field Day

Submitted by trisha.olsen on

The second grade students at East Meadows Elementary loaded the buses on Thursday, October 4 and headed to the North County Equestrian Park in Lehi and Harward Farms.  They participated in various activities while there.  They watched a sheep shearing demonstration by County Extension Agent Jim Jensen.  They learned about the important role agriculture has in their daily lives.  Local farmers, ranchers and fruit growers taught them that many things they use every day come from products like animals, orchards and gardens.  They were taught about good nutrition and hand washing. They made necklaces out of wheat seeds.  On the way home they stopped by Harward Farms and picked pumpkins which they will take home and decorate to be brought back to display on Monday, October 15.
