2nd Grade Field Trip

Submitted by linda.beck on

Second grade went on a field trip to the Provo River Trail and Jaker's Pumpkin Patch in Springville last Thursday. They had a great time learning about nature as they walked two miles along the river trail and looked for items on a scavenger hunt. Many of the students commented on how "Beautiful" it was up the canyon. They then traveled to Jaker's where they played in the corn, went through the haunted house, played on the hay, took a hayride, got to see and pet some fun animals (we think the baby Alpaca was the favorite). Students even got to pick their very own pumpkin.

East Meadows Kindergarten

Submitted by linda.beck on

East Meadows had some special visitos today in Kindergarten.

We had a Forest Ranger come to visit the students and tell them about his job.  He brought a special visitor Smokey The Bear. The students loved their visit. They learned how we can take care of our forests. We need to be careful with matches and fires in our wilderness.

They were able to ask the Ranger questions, he gave the students coloring books and pencils.

We appreciate those who serve in our community!

Our 5th grade students are so lucky to have Office DeWitt at our school each week teaching the DARE program.

Today he showed the students things that each officer needs in any situation.

He showed them his protective vest, helmet, guns and all the other things the officer use.

Thanks Officer DeWitt. We appreciate the service you render to our school and our communtiy.

5th Grade Fall Fun

Submitted by linda.beck on

Our 5th grade students in Mrs. Anderson's, Mrs. Andersen's and Mrs. Hogle's class just finished reading the book "Look What I Can Do With A Leaf."

The students gathered leaves, pressed them and prepared them to use in a fall art project. The students were very creative and created different animals using the leaves.

We had some awsome moms come in and help in each class room. We have great teachers, students and parents at East Meadows!

Santa Visits East Meadows

Submitted by linda.beck on

Santa made a special visit to East Meadows. He shared a book about the North Pole with the children. He told them about the work his elves do and all the stores at the North Pole. He also had his helper read a book he had been given by an author. What The Snowmen Do At Christmas. The children then had an opportunity to have Santa answer their questions. He was very jolly and happy to be with them. The children wrote a thank you letter to him. Mrs. Sayers ran into him when she was on vacation and renewed an old friendship. He visited her house with his sleigh and reindeer, in 1976.

SF Band at East Meadows

Submitted by linda.beck on

Today the 5th and 6th graders at East Meadows had a special visit by the Spanish Fork High School Marching Band.

The students were able to ask questions about the band and how to prepare to be in the band when they get older. They enjoyed listening to the band preform.
