East Meadows Goes Greek

Pictured are winners from the Girls Long Jump. Macie Nielsen (pictured left) took second place, Alicia Beagley (center) won first place, and Alisun Vehar (pictured right) was third.

The East Meadows Elementary sixth-graders have been studying the Greek culture and history as part of this year's curriculum. Teachers and students have engaged in many fun activities to experience ancient Greece firsthand.

The students decorated the hallways with columns and drawings of the Greek gods, put on a play, and held their own Olympics.

Grandparents Day

Bert and LaRee Liddiard with their grandson Carson Bakker

East Meadows first-grade students celebrated grandparents day last Thursday. They held a short program, and then students invited their guests back to the classroom to share some of their work.  Thanks to all of the grandparents who supported our students, and the teachers and students for making it possible.

Awesome Art!

Alexis and Mrs. Tricia Peterson

East Meadows kindergarten students kicked off the new school year with a blast of shaving cream! Mrs. Tricia Peterson led them in a fun art activity and encouraged their best and most creative work. Shaving cream and the table surface were introduced as new medium. The youngsters are all excited about learning new things in art. We are off to a great start, and look forward to many fun projects this year. Thanks, Mrs. Peterson!

Mustangs Stampede Through Jurassic Utah

Melissa Monroe, Mrs. Mandi Barton, McKailey Robb, and Katelynn Smith

East Meadows Elementary fourth-grade students started the new school year with a roar.  They began a Utah history unit on dinosaurs.  As part of the unit, students made dinosaur dioramas out of shoe boxes with salt dough and plenty of creativity.  Thanks to all of the parents that supplied salt dough, shoe boxes, and smart fourth-graders for this project.  Our mustangs run smartly even through the Jurassic period!
